The Via Model HDV100A1 interface was designed to offload the overhead and timing requirements of the J1708 and J1939 bus from your software application. The hardware handles bus-idle detection, collision detection and retries automatically. This is the ideal interface for Windows and PDA environments where timing issues and communications can cause critical problems.
A built-in pass-through mode provides backwards compatibility with the rest of B&B's J1708 converter line. The HDV100A1 powers up in pass-through mode. A software command from the RS-232 port can then enable the advanced features of the converter.
Dimensions: 4.1 x 1.7 x 0.8 in (10.4 x 4.3 x 2.0 cm). RS-232 connector is DB9 female. The vehicle connector is DB15 male. Models D6D15M or D9D15M cables are recommended for vehicle attachments. No external power supply is required. Cables are also available to connect to your PDA.
