232ABRT is an inline device which hangs up your modem after it has been idle for a selected amount of time. DTR is held high until the modem has been idle for the selected timeout period. Then DTR is forced low for 11 seconds, forcing the modem to hang up. After the 11 seconds has passed DTR is raised again, preparing it for the next connection. All other lines pass straight through. You can monitor communications either from the computer to the modem (pin 2) or from the modem to the computer (pin 3) to determine when to hang up. Two LEDs indicate when power is supplied and when your modem is being disconnected. The 232ABRT has a DB25 female connector on the computer side and a DB25 male connector on the modem side to fit right in to your existing system. It is compact, measuring only 1.32"H x 2.4"W x 4.60"L. Requires 11 to 16 VDC at 20 mA maximum.
