My Post-Thanksgiving Shopping Induced Haze at B&B
Dear Friend and Subscriber,
Last year I gave my wife an ironing board for Christmas (hey, she did need one) and as she tore the wrapping paper off of it, she gave me a scowl that might have killed a lesser primate.
How about you? Did you ruin your family's entire holiday shopping weekend with morose complaining, temper-tantrums and lost football games?
That's why MY wife calls the day after Thanksgiving "Black Friday": Because of me and my pig-headed stinginess.
Maybe you're not a scrooge. Maybe you camped out in a parking lot in the wee hours of Friday morning and nabbed a High-Definition Television for hundreds of dollars of coma-inducing savings. Perhaps you even experienced a shopping-induced head rush at the local mall that filled your brain cells with delirium.
OK then - if so, good for you. I'm delighted that some people derive pleasure from such endeavors. I'm even grudgingly happy for all who go home and turn on their High-Def TV's and snack happily with their beer and a bag of Ruffles. After all, such pursuits are good for the economy and Ruffles do taste great with beer.
But I, and the other members of B&B Engineering set our minds on higher undertakings. For when we are not ranting about tangled Christmas lights at home, we're making our mark on the economy by way of lots of hard, and clever, WORK.

If soccer moms can sip lattes and check email at Starbucks, doggonit, I decree that you oughtta be able to transmit your own I/O across the miles. Digital, Analog, Temperature, Relays, RS-232, RS-485. Whatever you've got, we get it from here to there - wirelessly.

-Goes up to 14 miles. Or shorter if you want the low power version. Waaaay cheaper and easier than stringing shielded cable across the frozen tundra or through cement walls.
-We customize it your way. You name the I/O configuration (Analog 0-10 VDC, 4-20mA ins and outs; Digital 0-48V inputs; Sinking or sourcing digital outputs), radio frequency (2.4 GHz or 900 MHz), distance (300 feet to 14 miles line-of-sight).
-We love Modbus: It's probably the most universal communications protocol, well understood everywhere and simple to use. Our wireless data flows in handy Modbus packets that flow right into most any controller or HMI.
