Customer's Girlfriend Sends Mike an Email

Name:
Email :

Hey Mike,

This is the hapless girlfriend who shares an email account with a techie who subscribes to your newsletter.

The amount of dry poopey emails that we get in our inbox is criminal, and it's pathetic that the other electronic types are perpetrating the geek image that's out there by doing these incredibly boring emails. I mean come on? 'All you've ever wanted to learn about C++, Extensive Layer Management Plug-In for mental ray Pipeline? BRUTAL! Thank you for the sense of humour in your newsletters.

Mike - I think you need to start a 'how to write a cheese free newsletter course' I can think of many companies that need your help!

Signed,
Disgruntled Dish

Cheesehead Jokes for Thanksgiving

There are few things People from Illinois (such as myself) like more than a good Wisconsin Joke.

Best headline I ever saw in a Wisconsin newspaper:

"Study Verifies: Wisconsinites Not Fattest In Nation."

The article went on to explain that because of allegations that Wisconsinites *were* fattest in nation, some people had, uh, taken offense.  So the Wisconsin state government funded a study and in fact had overturned this, uh, rumor.

In an incident that I suspect is related (no proof however) a certain Steve Moore of River Falls came home in June '05 and noticed something was wrong with his backyard hot tub.  He opened it up.  Inside, a dead deer.

"I just dropped immediately because of the flies and the stench, we keep the water at 102 degrees," Moore said in an interview on the evening news.

The perpetrator was a complete mystery until 19 year old Rob Christopherson posted a note on Facebook called, "The Deer and The Hot Tub" which detailed his brilliant, psychotic plan.

Christopherson and his friend, 19-year old David Berndt, had put the deer in the hot tub, playing a practical joke on one of their friends.  Later they realized it was the wrong hot tub.

At B&B we're thankful for stories like this, especially ones from Wisconsin.  And to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, we're highlighting our Wisconsin-Shaped products.

Wisconsin-Shaped RS-485 Converter
(which, unlike Wisconsin,
mounts on a DIN rail)
485LDRC9 RS-485 Converter

The above RS-232 to RS-485 converter converts, extends and protects your signals. Optical Isolation ensures that those persistant ground loops won't disrupt your data or damage your expensive equipment - keeping everything from your PC's to PLC's out of harms way. RS-485 signals easily travel 4000 feet, greatly extending the range of your RS-232 equipment. You can look at a whole range of these at http://bb-elec.com/product_family.asp?FamilyId=302 and http://www.bb-elec.com/product_family.asp?familyid=12.

Mike Fahrion

For all of your stupid humor needs, the B&B Electronics Turkey consistently churns out irreverent emails about Elvis Presley eating mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving and paranoia at the Macy's Thankgiving Day Parade.  Mike likes to drink Heineken while watching bowl games.  An archive of Mike's rants is available at www.bb-elec.com/econnections.  You may even spot some bad poetry, especially near Christmas.

I hope you have enjoyed this year's Thanksgiving issue, featuring our favorite Cheeseheads from Wisconsin.  Oh, and next time you're in Kenosha, be sure and stop at my favorite party facility, the Brat Stop.  It's the one with the giant cheese sign on the top, next to Taco Bell at 94 and 50.  Tell 'em Mike, the Turkey from Illinois, sent you.

Happy Connections,
Mike Fahrion
