History of B&B Electronics

Our Story

Designing, customizing, and manufacturing products since 1981, B&B Electronics is a one-stop source for best-in-class rugged, reliable, wired and wireless connectivity and communications solutions. Backed by strong technical support, B&B products are known for being simple to order, simple to use and simple to install. The company offers serial, Ethernet USB and wireless network solutions for industrial and commercial applications around the world.

In 2011, the company recognized new opportunities to transform device connectivity and extend the edge of the network.

In October 2011, B&B Electronics proudly announced its acquisition of Quatech, an industrial networking company with a complementary product line that included an industrial-grade embedded OEM wireless technology platform sold under the Airborne brand name.

In March 2012, B&B Electronics deepened its wireless solution portfolio with the acquisition of Conel s.r.o. of the Czech Republic. Conel is a well-established European market leader with a deep portfolio of reliable and secure wireless communications routers, gateways and devices that connect cellular networks to Ethernet, serial and other data networks. The acquisition further expands B&B’s European footprint, as well as strengthens B&B’s position in the fast-growing wireless market by extending its reach into cellular communications networks.

In June 2012, B&B Electronics acquired IMC Networks, based in Foothill Ranch, California. IMC Networks is a leading provider of optical access and media conversion solutions for LAN, MAN and FTTx applications.  With this acquisition, B&B takes a leadership spot in the global media conversion marketplace.

Going forward, our focus will continue to be delivering world-class, wired and wireless, industrial M2M (machine-to-machine) data communications technologies known for rugged reliability, ease of use, and ease of implementation.
